Graded and Vocational Ballet Classes

Graded Syllabus

From school age, children can start their Royal Academy of Dance Grades. The Royal Academy of Dance (RAD) prides itself in training dance safely and progressively to create technically correct dancers of the future. If children wish they can participate in examinations to work their way through the RAD grades. If children are entered into an exam they are expected to attend a terms worth of extra lessons before taking their exam.

Vocational Training

Our dancers vocational training can start from as little as 7 years old. We have created our own bespoke Pre Vocational class which is a class where dancers slowly and carefully focus on the technique that is needed to execute certain ballet steps. On invitation, dancers can start the vocational RAD training. This is aimed at dancers who would like to attend an additional class a week and for those who would like a career in dance. This is also where dancers learn pointe work and are expected to also attend an additional pointe class or strengthening class a week.

Progressing Ballet Technique

From Grade 1 dancers also have the opportunity to join the Progressing Ballet Technique (PBT) classes. PBT is “Progressing Ballet Technique is a program developed by Marie Walton-Mahon to help students advance in all dance forms by training muscle memory. PBT focuses on core stability, weight placement and alignment. PBT is practiced internationally”.
